Links and Resources — Midcentury Now

I started researching this in February of 2025. I had to pause over the summer. Here is a running log of all the interesting resources I've collected. Most of it focuses on LLMs, but there is substantial bit covering philosophical and cultural questions raised by high technology.

Sharing a link or something is not an endorsement of the author, the content, or anything like that necessarily. Many of them ended up important because of their cultural influence either way.

I'm including some older books I read as a kid that are outdated but stuck with me. Other parts are just bits with things like SillyTavern character prompts and tips for running them. Here’s a list, with most yet to be populated.

I have not tried all the methods described in the technical links. As of October 2025, this is very much just a messy collection of everything I have.

Discord Servers

(Mostly) worthwhile places you’ll find me at very least lurking on Discord, where my username, by the way, is @CathyMarkova. Wave if you want?

SillyTavern Official is exactly what you would expect of something with that name.
Raven’s Nest mostly focuses on SillyTavern and similar software, is very cozy.
Character Tavern revolves around the application in question and related.
Vibe Coding Reddit Server is friendly and active, but lives up to its name at times.
